PS Wagunda Meets Uganda Delegation for Experience Sharing on Pensions
The Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Investments and Assets Management Mr. Cyrell Wagunda this evening hosted a delegation from Uganda led by the Cabinet Minister for Public Service Hon. Wilson Muruli on the sidelines of the inaugural Public Service Superannuation Fund (PSSF) Pan-African Pensions Conference in Diani, Kwale County.
The two-day Conference themed 'Beyond Capital Preservation: The Future of Pensions' is bringing together various stakeholders from across the pensions and financial services ecosystem to foster dialogue, learning and collaboration towards a strengthened public sector.
In his remarks, PS Wagunda noted that, a shift from a Defined Benefits (DB) to a modern, sustainable Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme is one of the most transformative public-sector financial decisions in Kenya's history adding that, the reforms seek to strengthen retirement security for public servants while safeguarding fiscal stability for generations to come.
The head of the Ugandan delegation thanked the Kenyan team for the warm reception and significant discussions aimed at enhancing the public sector in the two friendly countries.
He was joined by Uganda's State Minister for Public Service Hon. Mary Mugasa.
Also present was PSSF Chair Hon. Hussein Dado, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jonah Aiyebei, Secretary of Pensions at the National Treasury Mr. Alfred Kagika among others.
