PS WAGUNDA ATTENDS THE OPENING OF THE CORRECTIONAL SERVICE WEEK

The Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Investments and Assets Management Mr Cyrell Wagunda today joined Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Soipan Tuya, colleague Principal Secretaries and other senior officials from the State Department of Correctional Services during the commemoration of this year's Correctional Service Week at a Nairobi Hotel.

The Service Week 2025 themed 'Efficient Service Delivery Delivery for the Common Good' brought together prisons commanders and directors from the entire country with an aim of evaluating the steps made in helping offenders reintegrate with the society after rehabilitation in prison facilities and developing a roadmap to enhance correctional services.

In his remarks, PS Wagunda urged the State Department for Correctional Services to ensure that their assets are well captured in the national assets register among them lands, vehicles among others.

Also present were participants from Azerbaijan, Eswatini and Sierra Leone alongside Kenya's Commissioner General of Prisons Mr. Patrick Aranduh.
